Norou Soulemane Yorou is a lecturer and head of the Department of Natural Resources Management at the Faculty of Agronomy of the University of Parakou in Benin. He holds an engineering degree from the Faculty of Agricultural Sciences of the National University of Benin and a doctoral degree from the Department of Biology of the Ludwig-MaximiliansUniversität München. His priority research interests are: biodiversity, molecular phylogeny and distribution of tropical African fungi; plant-fungi interactions; natural production, phenology and sustainable exploitation of wild useful fungi; and the conservation of threatened fungi, partner plants and their habitats in tropical Africa. Norou Soulemane Yorou is a member of many professional associations: the International Union for the Conservation of Nature, the Association for the Taxonomic Study of the Flora of Tropical Africa, the African Mycological Association, the British Ecological Society and the German Mycological Society.
