Climates and Cultures: Perspectives for the Future

[collapsed title="Introduction to the conference"]

The Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences of Belgium is a tool for the promotion of multi- and interdisciplinary scientific knowledge in overseas regions, especially in developing countries. It acts as a meeting place for communication between North and South and represents an independent reference centre. The aim of this conference on Climates and Cultures: Perspectives for the Future is to define the past and present impact of climate changes on cultures from the human, biological, medical and technical sciences’ point of view. The conference will focus on how human migration, biodiversity, fragile coastal areas, desertification, technological innovation, nutrition, law and literature have been and continue to be influenced by climate changes. This two-day conference will end with a debate.
