Jean-Luc Hornick is professor at the Faculty of veterinary medicine from University of Liège (ULiège), Belgium, and member of the FARAH research center of the same faculty.
He is a fellow member of the Royal Academy for Overseas Sciences (RAOS) since 2017.
Doctor in veterinary medicine (ULiège), he holds a postgraduate diploma in tropical veterinary medicine (ITM, Antwerp), a postgraduate diploma in animal production (ULiège), a PhD in veterinary science (ULiège), and two certificates (radioprotection, FELASA).
His research topics include animal nutrition, especially as driver for animal production in a context of food security, and identification and characterisation of non conventional feed resources.
He is co-author of more than 600 scientific papers (136 reported on Scopus). His experience abroad includes short stays in various countries of Africa, South of America and Asia, and different research and teaching activities oversea (Algeria, Benin, Bolivia, Burkina Faso, Chad, Congo Brazzaville, DR Congo, Gabon, Ivory Coast, Morocco, Niger, Peru, Senegal, Vietnam).
